Solutions Engineer
Appcharge is a leading direct-to-consumer platform for app publishers. We help publishers sell digital goods directly to their users — bypassing traditional app store commissions and owning the full payment and commerce experience. The result: higher margins, better flexibility, and a more direct relationship with end users. Backed by $89M from leading investors and operators, we've grown 14x in the past year and now process over half a billion dollars annually. We're building the infrastructure that lets modern app businesses take back control of monetization — at scale.
About the Role
You'll own the post-sales technical onboarding for our publisher partners, acting as the bridge between commercial success and technical execution — while also serving as a technical support point for live, in-production issues once publishers are launched. This role is focused on supporting our North America customers, with working hours aligned to North American time zones.
You'll work closely with Business Development, Product, Engineering, Account Management, and Customer Success to ensure integrations are delivered efficiently and that live publishers get fast, expert support when things go wrong.
Responsibilities
Solutions Engineering (Onboarding & Integration)
- Own the technical implementation of publisher integrations — working directly with client engineering teams to set up SDKs, APIs, payments, storefronts, analytics pipelines, and CRM hooks.
- Review publisher architectures and data flows to design optimal integration approaches aligned with Appcharge's capabilities and best practices.
- Configure and validate integration environments (staging and production), performing hands-on QA and verification of transaction flows, event tracking, and user journeys.
- Document and communicate technical requirements clearly, ensuring both sides (publisher and Appcharge) share a common understanding of the implementation.
- Act as the technical counterpart to Account Management and Onboarding teams, ensuring clear visibility into integration status and blockers.
- Collaborate with account managers to support post-launch feature expansion that maximizes DTC revenue for publishers.
- Contribute to improving integration tooling, SDKs, and documentation based on learnings from real implementations.
Support Engineering (Live Publisher Support)
- Provide support for internal and external stakeholders during and after onboarding, working across all support tiers to ensure top-tier service and minimal escalations to R&D.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across a range of environments, using logging/monitoring tools and best practices.
- Communicate directly with customers via email, Zendesk, and video calls.
- Build and manage customer-facing support resources, including FAQs and playbooks.
- Interface with engineering, product, and customer success teams to investigate and resolve complex issues.
- Monitor and prioritize incoming technical issues to ensure timely resolution, and lead critical customer escalations, including during on-call rotations.
- 3+ years of experience in technical integration, solutions engineering, technical support, or developer onboarding in SaaS, gaming, payments, or ad tech.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, SDKs, payment processing, webhooks, authentication flows, and mobile app stacks (iOS/Android).
- Proven ability to read and debug code, logs, and network calls — enough fluency to work side-by-side with developers, without necessarily being a full-time engineer.
- Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring solutions (e.g. New Relic, Coralogix, Logz.io, Datadog) and web debugging tools (e.g. Chrome DevTools, Fiddler).
- Solid understanding of web technologies and client/server architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to translate between commercial priorities and technical realities.
- Highly autonomous, organized, and comfortable working with global teams across time zones in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents.
- Experience integrating with mobile game backends, payment systems, or live-ops frameworks — highly advantageous.
- Experience with SQL — advantage.
- Previous experience supporting SaaS or SDK-based platforms — advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — advantage.
