Appcharge Named Best Payment Service Provider — Three Years Running

For the third year in a row, Pocket Gamer named Appcharge Best Payment Service Provider at the Mobile Games Awards.
The first win, in 2024, came while most publishers were still watching direct-to-consumer from the sidelines. This year's win lands on the other side of that bet. Appcharge now processes over $1 billion in annualized transactions, testament to how DTC has become a key part of the business model for the biggest publishers in the industry.
So what makes a payments stack worth its salt? The answer lies in the details: local acquiring that lifts approval rates by up to 8.4 percentage points over cross-border routing, Merchant of Record coverage that takes tax, compliance, and risk off a publisher's desk, and a checkout built to convert on the first purchase and the fiftieth. Three years of the same award means three years of that stack holding under a lot more volume than when it started.

Ludia is the freshest proof of it. The studio brought Jurassic World: The Game onto Appcharge through Payment Links and reached 26% DTC wallet share within weeks of launch. Conversion doubled inside a month. 57% of buyers made more than one purchase, and 11% bought 10 or more times. An established game, picking up a new revenue lane at full speed, without touching what already worked.
The trophy came home the same week Appcharge opened its Rockstars of DTC booth on the Gamescom show floor, spotlighting the publishers proving what DTC looks like at real scale.
Three wins is a track record earned one payment at a time, across a market that's grown a lot bigger since the first award. The commitment behind it hasn't moved: keep building the DTC infrastructure the world's biggest publishers run their real revenue through.
